Hey, it's good to have friends, right?

Personally, I question the loyalty of Greek-Americans. There's something shady about that Patriarch in Istanbul. And it's well known that the Greek lobby has dictated American policy in Cyprus for the last 40 years. Isn't Al Qaeda's hatred motivated mostly by US support for the Greek occupation of Cyprus and Salonika? I thought so.

There's a good roundup of responses to Walt and Mearsheimer at:

Harvard slowly backs away:

Normal Kennedy School of Gov't Working paper:

http://ksgnotes1.harvard.edu/Research/wpaper.nsf/rwp/RWP06-010/$File/rwp_06_010_bowles.pdf

Replete with fancy logo. It was the one submitted right before Walt and Mearsheimer 's paper. (See: http://ksgnotes1.harvard.edu/Research/wpaper.nsf/PubwzDate?OpenForm)

Now their paper:

http://ksgnotes1.harvard.edu/Research/wpaper.nsf/rwp/RWP06-011/$File/rwp_06_011_walt.pdf

Sans logo, but carrying a disclaimer not seen on the other paper:

The two authors of this Working Paper are solely responsible for the views expressed in it.  As academic institutions, Harvard University and the University of Chicago do not take positions on the scholarship of individual faculty, and this article should not be interpreted or portrayed as reflecting the official position of either institution.

Interesting. Normally universities are quite proud of the research of their professors. Logo stricken, disclaimer applied. It's almost as if they're embarrassed.

Not embarrassed enough to take it off their website completely though. Still, somewhat humiliating, I imagine.

Very interesting, thanks.

Pretty specious. Tons of racists supported the Iraq war, and this blog. That doesn't make you a racist.
