IDF Flash Mob in Hebron

I guess these guys are going to get into trouble, but this is a lot better for Israeli PR than Operation Cast Lead or the Mavi Marmara incident.

hahahahahhaha
that was perfect!

From the call to prayer interrupted by the club music, quick dance, then on their way. Perfect flash mob stuff, especially considering the circumstances =P

Looks like you were right, Michael

Sorry to bombard this thread, but gotta love the last line:

It is now back on YouTube, uploaded by a number of different users, one of which reposted it with the headline: "It's easy to laugh at the occupation when you're the oppressor."

Geez...some people need to get a sense of humor.

@Kyle

Islam does not allow for humor or an old fashioned Borscht Belt.

What a perfect minute of stress relief - love it.

Nicely scripted, but this is still my favorite

Reminiscent of the scene from Stripes when Bill Murray leads his army company in a dance in front of a general during drill. Well, why not? I think it's great!

Just for some local background, the dance is from a skit on the insanely popular satirical comedy show - Eretz Nehederet. In this particular skit, two snobby, brainless shopgirls at a woman's boutique spend their day ignoring customers as they fold clothes and dance to the same music you hear the soldiers dancing to. At one point you see the soldiers turn to each other and make some hand motions. This is mimicking the two shopgirls folding sweaters.

Eretz Nehederet is a riot. Like everything in Israel, comedy has gotten so much better than it was when I first arrived fifteen years. Back then it was crude slapstick and practically unwatchable.

They shouldn't get punished for showing contempt for their enemy's pious mouthings and subsidized faith. They shouldn't make a habit of it, because the payback for this one will be a real bitch, but screwing with their minds is perfectly fair game.

The funniest part is that the fanatics look stupid because they can't laugh at the excesses of their faith...and they know how stupid they look.

I also hope they don't get into to much trouble and chalk it up to a psychological warefare exercise.

The IDF has really gone too far this time!

OMG, the Macarena??

Suddenly, the PLO doesn't seem so bad...

(*Psst: Yes, that's a JOKE!*)

that is the most undisciplined dance troupe i've ever seen, they really need Paula Abdul's help.

Hire a choreographer, guys. And keep it up. Humor and imagination counteract madness.

Thanks, Mary.

Lady Gaga is just a name from the "news" to my generation. These folks got some MOVES!
